Assistant Professor of Medicine
Fan Zhang, PhD. Assistant Professor, University of Colorado Department of Medicine Division of Rheumatology and Center for Health AI (Artificial Intelligence). The Zhang Lab focuses on developing and using computational machine learning methods for single-cell multi-omics to study disease pathogenesis toward precision medicine. Dr. Zhang did her Postdoc research with Dr. Soumya Raychaudhuri on using computational single-cell multi-omics to study autoimmune diseases at Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Broad Institute of Harvard/MIT (2017 - 2021). Dr. Zhang is also an Investigator involved in the NIH-funded AMP RA/SLE (Accelerating Medicines Partnership Rheumatoid Arthritis and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus) and AMP AIM (Autoimmune and Immune-Mediated Diseases) consortium. Before that, Dr. Zhang completed her Ph.D. (2013-2017) from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Massachusetts where she developed novel statistical machine learning models characterize patient heterogeneity using large-scale genomic and other omics data.
